La Biblia del Oso con Audio 5.0

The Sagradas Escrituras (1569) (Biblia del Oso), also known as the "Biblia del Oso" or Bear Bible, is a significant religious work published in Basel, Switzerland, on September 28, 1569. It features an image of a bear standing next to a tree on its cover. This Bible is a direct translation from the original Hebrew and Greek texts.

In addition to the original text and Latin versions, Casiodoro de Reina, the author of this translation, consulted the previous works of Valdés (such as his Psalms in Spanish), Enzinas, Pérez de la Pineda, and the Biblia Ferrariense.

In the 1569 translation, Reina employed the latest advancements in biblical sciences. For example, he included verse divisions in the New Testament, which had only been recently introduced in printed form a few years earlier (1550). He expressed regret that a new edition of the Peshita had arrived too late for him to consider it in his translation.

This work has undergone numerous revisions, starting with Valera's revision, who was Reina's friend and conducted the first revision. Since then, there have been several other revisions, with the most recent one by the United Bible Societies in 1995. It is now widely known as the Reina-Valera Bible.
